What is Lifecycle Events in the ServiceNow HRSD module?

 Lifecycle Events help an employee whenever a major event in their life occurs. Major event could be something like onboarding (because they accepted a job offer), relocation, internal promotion, paternal leave, offboarding (because they quit) etc. 

So how would the Lifecycle Events module help with these. Let's consider Onboarding as an example: -

1. A candidate has accepted a job offer. This would trigger the Onboarding Lifecycle Event.

2. ServiceNow will automatically send them a welcome email and link to the Employee Center.

3. They can sign-in to the Employee center and sign their digital contracts.

4. The system will automatically check for the employee's location and send them tax documents accordingly.

5. ServiceNow will automatically notify the IT team to give them their laptop.

6. ServiceNow will automatically assign them an office and a desk and will also prepare their security badge.

7. The system may also push a few articles on their Employee Center portal for e.g. some details about the proper dress code or something about the company culture.

8. So, when the employee arrives at the office, their badge is waiting for them, their laptop is on their desk, all software that they'll need are installed and ready.

And so on and so forth. The whole process is automated, and the employee themselves do not have to run around, looking for what they need. Everything is ready for them when they arrive at work on the very first day.
